Uganda Solidality Summit on Refugees
The Summit is jointly organized by Government of Uganda, the Office of the United Nations Secretary- General and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, with the support of the UN in Uganda.
The Solidarity Summit on Refugees will convene around 500 stakeholders (Heads of government, UN, international financial institutions, international and regional organizations, NGOs, private sector, civil society, academia, etc.). The Summit will span two days and will include:
- High-Level Policy Dialogue structured around key CRRF pillars. Participants will hear directly from refugee and host community representatives, and receive feedback from the field missions and side events. High-profile speakers will make keynote speeches on needs, solutions and opportunities and the Government and UN in Uganda will present gaps and areas where Uganda, refugees and host communities need support to set the stage for pledges of solidarity.
- Pledging Event for support to Uganda’s efforts structured around the objectives of the summit.
- Field Visits to refugee-hosting districts and refugee settlements for select participants
